New Update from Wales...

So I received a e-mail from Trevor Bennett today. He says that things such as Visa requirements and getting my status established at the university are proving to be easier than originally thought. Once the dean of the school returns next week and they seek approval, I will receive a formal invitation to be a part of their department! This is very exciting news! This really is happening. It's getting a bit scary, but also incredibly exciting! Time is already flying by so fast. I hope to be departing for Wales towards the end of August and will be returning to the United States just before my 25th birthday in January!

P.S. The above image is of the Welsh Peninsula...

This is definitely a move in the right direction...

I had a meeting with my advisor, Dr. Baumer, today. So many questions were answered and in just the way I had hoped. Dr. Baumer offered so many words of encouragement and expressed that he feels my plan for the fall shows initiative and is exactly the kind of experience the PhD program is looking for. We were able to discuss plans for the spring semester and for my re-application process for the PhD program. I feel like this trip will open up so many doors and will hopefully gear me towards a focus and direction for what will eventually be my interest area and the topic of my dissertation. I am once again empowered and feel like this is absolutely the right direction for me right now.

Welcome to my little adventure...

Well, this will soon be my new home for the coming months of fall and into winter...

It is exciting and scary and completely crazy all at the same time. I'm looking forward to meeting new people and gaining some much needed experience and insight into my future. Hopefully this will be enough to help me determine which path to take from here...

This blog will play host to my adventures and journeys, as well as offer a peek into my average days as an intern at such a beautiful university in such a wonderful part of the world. Here you will find photos and commentaries on all the amusing/surprising/crazy things I have yet to discover and experience.

Hopefully this will provide a good outlet to keep in touch with all those that I will greatly miss while I'm away.

The next postings to follow will update on the progress of my departing on this little adventure and will hopefully contain a better grasp of what the "big picture" entails.
